The commissioning of a new injection mould at one of our customers necessitated the need to confirm the conformity of the parts produced using it. The best method for verifying the dimensional tolerances of trial parts is a 3D scan.
SGP Quality lab used 3D scanner to inspect the parts delivered by the customer from the trial batch. In a specialized program, the obtained scan was compared with a CAD model. Based on the technical drawing with dimensions and their tolerances, the measurement report was generated.
‘The analysis of the parts from the new injection mold identified areas for improvement. After applying the modifications resulting from the report, the parts were re-manufactured and then subjected to the same analysis. This allowed us to confirm the compliance of the tooling.
