Reverse engineering

Share:

Reverse engineering is a process in which a 3D CAD model is created based on a 3D scan of an actual part or 2D engineering documentation.

3D scanning in this application is widely used in industry to create databases of existing parts and their modifications.

We scan a detail provided by the customer and then prepare a 3D model and 2D documentation.

By using a professional 3D scanner of high accuracy (0.025mm), it is possible to perform an accurate scan and consequently a very accurate CAD model.

In our work in reverse engineering we use professional software GeoMagic designe, which allows us to perfectly create a CAD model based on a 3D scan.

3D scanning in this application is widely used in industry to create databases of existing parts and their modifications.

Reverse engineering work process:

  • The analysis of the detail, the preparation of all the necessary information needed to begin work,
  • 3D scan of the detail,
  • Creation of 3D model in GeoMagic Designe,
  • Verification of correctness of execution. Comparison of created model with 3D scan,
  • Completing the 2D documentation ,
  • Sending a scan, a model and a drawing with the report to the customer,
